We will be happy to issue you a credit for future Mermaid Series event.To apply for your credit, you must email us a minimum of 10 days before event date. A written confirmation that we received your request will be emailed to you. Please keep the confirmation email for your records. Your credit will be good for any Mermaid event through the following calendar year. Credits are nontransferable and can not be used for our training clinics. mermaid run san franciscoFrequently Asked QuestionsCheck-In and Registration: What to BringYou must bring a PHOTO IDENTIFICATIONWhen can I pick up my race number and goodie bag?Race numbers and goodie bags will be given out on race morning. We suggest you get there early to avoid any lines.What time should we be there on race day?Check-in opens at 7:00 a.m. Depending on your race we recommend you get there 45 minutes to an hour ahead of time to get your number, warm-up and stretch.How soon does one need to register for the event?Last year the event sold out, however we've moved it to a new location and can now accommodate more runners. Still, we recommend signing up early to guarantee your spot.If the event closes, will there be a waiting list?No.If I cannot race, can I give someone else my race number?No. Race entries are non-transferable.How do I know you received my entry?There is a participant list posted on our website. If you don't see your name, email us at info_mermaidtriathlon.com.Can I get a refund?If you give us 10 days notice, we will give you a credit (minus a transaction fee) toward a future race.What are the Age Groups?Age groups are generally (from age 20 and over) in 5 year increments:Mermaid Age Groups = 14 & Under, 15-17; 18-19: 20-24: 25-29, etc.How many miles is 5K? 10K? and the half marathon?The 5K is 3.1 miles, the 10K is 6.2 miles and the half marathon is 13.1 miles.Is the Mermaid RUN hilly?No. Most of the run is on a wide, fire road or a paved bike path. It is a very flat course.What kind of liquid/food is on the race course?Water, Electrolyte drink, and gelsI was wondering if there is a time limit on the Mermaid RUN?No. there is no time limit.Can I run with a baby stroller?Yes, you can run with a baby stroller, however we ask that you not start at the front of the pack as the stroller may block the path of a faster runner.DISCOUNTSI belong to a club and got a discount last year. Will you be offering the discount again this year for the Mermaid events?Yes - Make sure your club president or representative emails us at info_mermaidtriathlon.com to get the discount code.Do I have to wear my paper, race number?Yes, you are required to run with your bib number. This is used for identification purposes as well as the race photos. If you do not have your race number on during the run you will be disqualified!!I heard this event uses Chip Timing. What is Chip Timing?The morning of the event, we issue each participant an ankle strap with a computer chip. The computer chip is encoded with the athlete's name, race number and other information. The computer chip allows for the most accurate race time.
